Grand participation in the final event of DigEm project in the 4th Conference of Hellenic Adult Education Association (HAEA) in Greece

The innovative methodology for digital empowerment DigEm was presented in the 4th Conference of Hellenic Adult Education Association (HAEA), entitled “Good Practices in Adult Education”, which took place in the splendid facilities of OTE Academy in Marousi (Athens) from 26th until 28th April 2012.
 
DigEm project was presented at the opening speech at the Main Auditorium of the Conference, on Friday 26 of April, by Vaso Anastasopoulou in a crowded room with trainers and representatives of public and private organization of Adult Education. They were significantly interested for the DigEm methodology and watched indicative digital stories that were produced during DigEm project.
 
The next day, Saturday April 27, the DigEm methodology was presented through two experiential train-the-trainer workshops where participated in total 39 trainers of Adult Education. Initially was scheduled only one workshop, but because of the significant participation eventually implemented another one. The workshops were coordinated by the DigEm trainers: Vas Anastasopoulou, George Petrou, Andreas Almpanis and Nikos Mandrekas, and characterized by the participants as highly innovative and significant supportive for their everyday work. A DigEm cd-rom including the Methodological Guide and the Trainers’ Toolkit in all the partners’ languages and 17 digital created during DigEm project shared to all the participants of the specific two workshops and to other related stakeholders.

The innovative methodology for digital empowerment DigEm will be presented in the 4th Conference of Hellenic Adult Education Association (HAEA), entitled “Good Practices in Adult Education”, which will take place in OTE Academy in Marousi (Athens) from 26th until 28th April 2012.
The results and products of the European project DigEm, which is in the final stage, will be presented in the afternoon Friday, April 26th by mrs Vasiliki Anastasopoulou during the opening speech in the Main Auditorium of the Conference. In the noon of Saturday, April 27th will be implemented an experiential DigEm workshop under the mentoring of DigEm trainers Vasiliki Anastasopoulou and Andreas Almpanis. At the end of the workshop will be presented the experiences of the pilot implementation of DigEm methodology across Europe by the DigEm partners who will came from England, Spain, Lithuania, Czech Republic, Poland and Cyprus. 
Digital Empowerment (DigEm) is an innovative project of social empowerment through a creative approach to teaching information and communication technologies. Is a product of a LdV European program which coordinated by DIMITRA ITD and participate eight organizations from seven European countries: UK, Spain, Poland, Lithuania, Czech Republic, Cyprus and Greece.
It builds on and further develops the Digital Storytelling methodology, as each trainee who participates in a DigEm workshop creates, through new technologies, a personal two minutes digital story, using creative techniques of Media such as, photography, video, music, recordings, theatrical storytelling, editing, etc. The experiential approach of adult education is vital for all the phases of the workshop, developing in best possible way the social, literary, narrative and digital skills of trainees.

National showcase – presentation of DigEm project at the ISIM conference in Warsaw

ISIM-DigEm national showcase in Poland

ISIM conference - Information Systems In Management will be held on 24th and 25th November 2011 in Warsaw. The conference is organized by the Department of Informatics of Warsaw University of Life Sciences – SGGW. The conference focuses on information technology as means of application of technology and information systems in economics, finance and banking, logistics, business management and public administration.

 

A session devoted to the implementation of an international project DigEm financed with support from the European Commission will be hosted during the conference, on 25th November. The aim of the session is to present the project, its objectives as well as elaborated methodology and tools. The presentation is part of the dissemination and publicity activities for the project.

National Showcase - CYPRUS 6th of October 2011

The Cyprus Partner EDITC is planning an event and a National Showcase on the 6th of October 2011. People that have participated in the end user pilots, people from various disadvantaged groups and other stakeholders have been invited at the event and the showcase. It is expected that a total of 70 people will attend the two events.

The aim of the event is to present the Digem methodology to stakeholders as well as to people that might wish to re-engage in the learning process. We believe that it is imperative that this methodology is presented and explained to stakeholders as to what innovative it has to offer as well as to how it maybe used in the learning process.

After the event, videos from the train the trainers and end user pilots will be showcased. A coktail will follow for the participants and more videos will be projected on a whitescreen at the same time.

As there will be both Greek speaking and English speaking attendees at the event and showcase, translation equipment will be provided to the participants
